Popular Nigerian actress, Halima Abubakar, recently took to the microblogging platform to subtly target some Nollywood producers, whom she says demand sex before casting an actress in their film.
The screen diva made the revelation while responding to a tweet from a social media user who tried to ascertain the veracity of sex for roles among Nollywood producers.
She’d tweeted ;
I left Twitter not Nollywood. I produce my own movies. I no get strength for sex.
A follower then asked ;
Serious!! That means it’s true that producers do demand sex from female actresses b4 casting them in movies. Our sisters are not safe
Halima then confirmed the follower’s suspicion with her reply ;

The discussion about sex for roles has been going on in the industry for many years.
In January 2022, veteran actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo denied the claim as he expressed a contrary opinion that some actresses don’t work hard and don’t execute their script well.
Sharing a photo from a film set on his page, the veteran said: “When you hear of sex for roles in Nollywood, please do not believe all you are told. Many of the girls are not working hard to live up to the roles they are cast for. Quite a shame.”
