SINGAPORE – The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (STSPMF) has acquired a donation of $20,000 raised through TransitLink’s Unleash the Gates campaign.
According to a press release by STSPMF on Thursday (April 21), the campaign was organised by TransitLink, Mastercard and Stellar Ace, which was beforehand referred to as SMRT Media.
Stellar Ace is the media and digital arm of Stellar Lifestyle, which manages retail and promoting area in Singapore’s MRT community.
The funds have been raised through direct donations from TransitLink and IT companies firm Acclivis Technologies, in addition to from a rewards redemption programme by commuters.
From Dec 1, 2021, to Jan 18, 2022, commuters might earn reward factors by utilizing their financial institution playing cards to make contactless funds for the fares on their commutes.
Using Stellar Ace’s Wink+ app, commuters might then alternate reward factors for donations to STSPMF in addition to public transport fare rebates, or different service provider offers.
STSPMF was began in 2000 to assist college students from lower-income households. It has since helped near 180,000 kids and youth in want, disbursing greater than $80 million in funds.
The fund disburses about $6 million yearly to about 10,000 needy college students.
