Andrew Symonds’ Death: A Look Back at the Legendary Australian Cricketer’s Career Stats
Former Andrew Symonds, an Australian cricketer who died in a car accident on Saturday night, was considered one of the best all-rounders the country has ever produced. Symonds was known for giving his all in all three areas of the game. He had an acrobatic fielder who, in addition to his powerful batting and excellent bowling, had the propensity of taking outstanding catches and smashing the stumps from afar. Between 1998 and 2009, he was a member of the Australian squad.
Andrew Symonds is one of the rare players who have made his Test debut while on a foreign tour. In 2004, Symonds made his Test debut against Sri Lanka. Cricket pundits questioned his selection in the squad since he replaced Simon Katich, who had recently struck a century in the previous series. Symonds’ amazing cricket career got off to a rocky start, as he failed to score more than 25 runs in his first four appearances. In 2005, he returned to the team and quickly established himself as a valuable member. In 2008, he played his final Test match against South Africa.
