Asokore Mampong Municipal Education Directorate denies media accusations that a teacher trainee has impregnated 24 schoolgirls, four female teachers, and the school’s headmistress.

The Municipal Education Directorate stated the publication is untrue because it has never hired teacher trainees from institutions of education since its foundation.

The statement said teacher trainees are generally sent to schools that lack trained teachers, but Asokore Mampong doesn’t.

The education directorate said that it oversees eight M/A schools, all of which are led by males except Aboabo M/A JHS, which is led by a woman who will retire in 2023.

The directorate said it had documents to prove the reduction of adolescent pregnancy in its schools, since the Girls’ Education Unit has recorded fewer pregnant schoolgirls in the municipality over the past three years.
