Jamie Jewitt has shed two-and-a-half stone after piling on the pounds drinking a bottle of wine every night in lockdown.
The former Love Island star, 32, admitted his previous discipline with healthy eating went out the window and he felt his body prematurely age during the pandemic, sparking his determination to change.
In an exclusive interview, Jamie, who’s married to Camilla Thurlow, 32, after they met on the ITV2 dating series in 2017, confessed to feeling ‘useless’ in comparison to his wife following the birth of their second daughter Nora just two weeks ago.
‘I gained so much weight’: Jamie Jewitt has shed two-and-a-half stone after piling on the pounds drinking a bottle of wine every night in lockdown
Jamie said: ‘I gained so much weight over lockdown and being a dad.
‘The crazy thing is I have always been very good with going to the gym and exercising.
‘I am a freak and am obsessed with sport and I love boxing, training, so I went to the gym 5-6 times a week and I never really dropped that even through lockdown.
‘With me, it was the food, and I was drinking a bottle of wine every night in lockdown… it was a real bad habit.
‘I used to be so disciplined with my food and then life got in the way, I got a bit older, and a lot of things happened and I found it so difficult to keep on top of my diet.’

The ex-Calvin Klein model credits his recent weight loss to MuscleFood, which is a meal prep company that delivers breakfast, lunch, and dinner to your front door.
Jamie explained: ‘I wanted to lose weight and MuscleFood offered to help me.
‘I lost a good two-and-a-half stone and inches everywhere and I’ve managed to keep it off and I’m still eating relatively healthy.
‘They do meal plans, recipes, and ready-made meals that you can put in the freezer and deliver everything to your door.
‘You give them the number of calories you burn in a day, and they put you in a calorie deficit and tailor the meals around that.
‘I didn’t change my training, so it was testament to how much the diet did for me because that’s the only thing I changed. In three months, I lost weight so quick.’
‘I couldn’t be happier’: Jamie and Camilla, who met on Love Island in 2017, welcomed their second daughter Nora last month and are parents to one-year-old Nell
Jamie and Camilla welcomed their second daughter Nora last month and are parents to one-year-old Nell.
The pair married in September 2021 after falling for each other on Love Island and have protected their relationship over the years by remaining private about their personal lives.
After becoming a dad to Nell, Jamie quickly realised he needed to take better care of his body, admitting he even struggled getting up off the floor changing his daughter’s nappy.
He said: ‘I’ve done every diet under the sun, I’ve done keto, I’ve been vegan for a year, vegetarian, I’ve done paleo, all of them throughout the years from when I was modelling but as I’ve got older, I have stopped caring so much about how I look.
‘I was treating myself without my body image in the back of my mind, but it became an issue because I felt so unhealthy.
‘I felt it in my knees, when I walked up the stairs my knees would be hurting, and I felt sluggish and slow when I woke up. I didn’t want to lose weight for aesthetic purposes at all I just wanted to feel like I used to. I feel like I aged myself so much over the two years.
‘She does it all with a smile’: Jamie isn’t expecting to be spoiled this weekend on Father’s Day, as he praises wife Camilla for sacrificing so much for their two little girls
‘The biggest illuminating factor was with Nell, we had a changing table but a lot of the time I was changing her on the floor, and I couldn’t get down on my knees and back up comfortably at 30-years-old.
‘It was a bit of a sign I wasn’t in the healthiest place… she is only getting more and more energetic and active, and I want to have fun with her and play washing baskets without heavy breathing after two minutes.’
Jamie isn’t expecting to be spoiled this weekend on Father’s Day, as he praises wife Camilla for sacrificing so much for their two little girls.
He said: ‘Camilla is doing absolutely amazing. She is a trooper.
‘One thing I have learned from being a father is that I had no idea what it took for women through every stage.
‘I’ve never felt more useless in all my life in comparison to what Cam went through and she did it all with a smile.
‘It became an issue’: Jamie, pictured ahead of his Love Island stint, told MailOnline he stopped caring about his model image but treating himself to unhealthy foods had a negative impact
‘It is incredible, the breast-feeding, and all the time and care she gives the little one it is unbelievable. We have two beautiful little girls, and I couldn’t be happier.
‘Maybe I’ll get some pampering this weekend with Father’s Day, but I don’t know if I deserve it right now considering Cam gave birth just two weeks ago!’
After meeting four years ago on a dating show, what does Jamie owe to his relationship being such a success?
‘It just worked for us’, he explained.
‘We did our own thing, and we didn’t get too wrapped up in everything afterwards.
‘Don’t get me wrong, you are pulled in every little direction and there are a lot of opportunities depending on your circumstances, but we went our own way.
‘I would like to think we are a good match and it all worked out. We like to try and keep up to date with Love Island. It has fond memories for us because it’s where we met, and we can’t say any negatives about it.’
